‘The Paradise’: Nani, Srikanth Odela take a dark route
Director Srikanth Odela, actor Nani and producer Sudhakar Cherukuri’s second collaboration titled The Paradise, following the 2023 Telugu action drama Dasara, is poised to take the rustic, gritty quotient several notches higher. The team unveiled the first glimpse video of The Paradise at AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad on Monday morning.
The makers of the Telugu film called the video glimpse ‘a raw statement’ and it begins with a disclaimer stating ‘raw, truth, raw language’, setting the tone for what is in store. A voiceover, speaking in Telangana Telugu dialect, gives viewers an idea of the story and the setting. The female voice states that while history has several stories about parrots and pigeons, the crows remain the lesser-celebrated and this film narrates the story of one such neglected community of people who have been berated and now, have taken up swords, to reclaim their space. The Paradise is a story of a rebellious man who grew into a leader, purportedly for the people who had been neglected.
The visual landscape is dark and brooding, showing a slum littered with corpses. The video shows Nani’s character sporting double braids and letting his muscular physique and body language do the talking. A striking tattoo, a watch strapped to his shoes and a gun complete his look. The look is a stark departure from the affable man-next-door image Nani has had all through his career, with the exception of Dasara.
The film is in the early stages of production and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The crew includes cinematographer GK Vishnu, production designer Avinash Kolla and editor Navin Nooli.
The Paradise is scheduled to release in theatres in multiple languages on March 26, 2026.
