Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has directed officials on Monday to distribute identity cards to street vendors identified through a survey.
During a meeting at BBMP head office, he stated that approximately 27,000 street vendors have been identified across all eight zones of the city. Officials were instructed to finalise the format of the ID cards and ensure their prompt distribution. Additionally, he emphasised the need to allocate designated vending zones for these vendors to conduct business without disruption.
Mr. Giri Nath also reviewed the ongoing survey on school dropouts within BBMP limits. He urged officials to conduct the survey efficiently and ensure the swift identification of children who have discontinued their education.
Under the Welfare Department, applications were invited for various schemes. The commissioner directed officials to assess the number of applications received for each program at the zonal level and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits without delay.
