Pending disbursement of Ladki Bahin scheme on March 8: Maharashtra Minister

Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana instalment for February 2025 to be disbursed on March 8, International Women’s Day.

The pending instalment of February 2025 for the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will be disbursed on March 8, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare told reporters on Monday.

She rubbished the Opposition’s allegations that 80 lakh women will be excluded from the ambit of the scheme.

“Special programmes have been planned for March 8, to mark the International Women’s Day. We will make the disbursement on the eve of Women’s Day. The process will begin by March 5, 6. It will be completed by March 8,” she said.

Ms. Tatkare refused to answer a question on increasing the monthly payout from ₹1,500 to ₹2,100. The Mahayuti had made the promise while campaigning for the Assembly elections last year. “The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Ministers will take a call on it,” she said.

Countering the Opposition’s allegations of leaving out women from the scheme, the Minister said, “We have reached 2.5 crore women due to this scheme last month. The Opposition has been raising issues because they are depressed due to the success of the scheme.”
