SSLC examinations off to a smooth start in Ernakulam

Smooth SSLC exam day in Ernakulam with easy Malayalam paper, proper revision sessions, and over 32,900 students across 325 centers.
The first day of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination passed off smoothly for hundreds of students in Ernakulam district on Monday (March 3, 2025).
The majority of students came out of the exam halls with a smile on their faces. The Malayalam question paper was as easy as expected, they said. There were no last-minute surprises, as the questions did not cause any confusion, said a group of students at the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Ernakulam.
Students said that teachers had taken care to ensure proper revision sessions ahead of the exam, which helped them clear their doubts. “It also enabled us to attempt various types of questions,” they added.
Over 32,900 students registered for the exam across various schools in the district, including around 16,134 girls and 16,859 boys. The four educational sub-districts were divided into 51 clusters, according to estimates by the Department of General Education.
There were a total of 325 exam centres under the four educational sub-districts, including Ernakulam, 101, Aluva,118, Muvattupuzha, 54, and Kothamangalam, 52. Arrangements were made to provide water to students in view of the scorching heat. Special squads were also deployed to monitor the conduct of the exam, according to officials.
