The Class 12 board exams began on Monday (March 3, 2025) and most students found the first paper, language, to be easy. “The exam was super easy. We were prepared for it,” said R. Krithika, a student of a government school in Arumbakkam.
More than 8.2 lakh students from across the State are appearing for the Class 12 public examinations in 3,316 centres. As many as 11,430 candidates, however, were absent from the first exam.
A total of 4,800 flying squad members have been deputed for monitoring the process.
Last year, over 7.7 lakh students had registered for the exam. The Class 11 and Class 10 examinations are slated to begin on March 5 and 28, respectively.
V. Koushika, a Class 12 student of Chennai Higher Secondary School, Pulla Avenue, said all the questions were as expected. “For the past three days, I had been coming to the school to prepare as it offered me a quiet space to study for the exams,” she added.
Speaking about the questions in the language paper, Naseema Banu, of Dr. B M Sundaravadanan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Shenoy Nagar, said, “While some of the one-mark questions were a bit tricky, including the Thirukkural questions, the rest were easy to navigate.”
A. Chandrasekaran, a French teacher and secretary of the Indian Association of Teachers of French (South zone), said: “The students found the French paper easy. It was student-friendly with no twisted questions.”
