Kerala CM agrees to debate on juvenile delinquency, youth violence, synthetic drug abuse, and violent media influence in Assembly.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday agreed to an adjournment debate in the Assembly on the rising tide of juvenile delinquency, youth violence and increasing synthetic drug abuse in the State.
Replying to a Rule 50 motion moved by senior Congress legislator and former Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, Mr. Vijayan also dwelled briefly on the pernicious influence of violent video games and films that normalise violence.
He said some recent galling developments had brought the issue to the fore of the social debate.
Speaker A.N. Shamseer ruled that the House would debate the issue for two hours from noon.
