Actor and former Chairman of the AP Film Development Corporation, Posani Krishna Murali, was taken into custody by the Narasaraopet police of Palnadu district at the Rajampeta sub-jail of Annamayya district on Monday (March 3, 2025), following a chain of complaints filed against him.
The police arrested Mr. Posani under a PT (Prisoner Transit) warrant and shifted him to Narasaraopeta for further legal proceedings.
A criminal case was registered against Posani Krishna Murali at the Narasaraopet Police Station under Sections 153A, 67 of the IT Act, and 504 of the BNS. These charges were leveled against the actor for allegedly making derogatory comments about Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
The police officials in Rajampeta observed that the actor was facing as many as 17 cases against him in various police stations in the State.
On Monday, three police teams from ASR, Anantapur, and Palnadu districts reached the sub-jail to take Mr. Krishna Murali into custody on PT warrants. However, after consulting with the higher officials, the prison authorities handed over the actor to the Narasaraopeta police, after conducting medical tests. Later, the police escorted him to the Narasaraopeta court to produce him before the judge. “The court will decide whether the actor will be sent to the Narasaraopeta sub-jail or brought back to the Rajampeta jail,” a police official said.
Last week, the Obulavaripalle police of Annamayya district arrested Krishna Murali at his residence in Hyderabad on a complaint from a Jana Sena leader for making objectionable remarks against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and shifted him to the sub-jail at Rajampeta after producing him before the Railway Kodur court.
