Over 10,000 jobs will be created in Vijayapura district: Minister

The Minister said that various companies had promised to invest ₹1 lakh crore in the district. A job fair would be held in Vijayapura soon.
Vijayapura district will get enough investment to create over 10,000 jobs in the next few years, Industrial Infrastructure Development Minister M.B. Patil said in Ghonasagi on March 1.
“We are working towards ensuring that all the investments promised to the district come true as per schedule, and that they create well-paying jobs. I am working towards that in coordination with various departments and private companies,” said Mr. Patil, who is in charge of Vijayapura district.
He said various companies had promised to invest ₹1 lakh crore in the district. A job fair would be held in Vijayapura soon.
His initiatives to increase the irrigation potential as the irrigation minister a few years ago had borne fruit. “We spent around ₹3,600 crore to bring water to dry areas in Honawad and surrounding villages. Due to the Tubachi-Babaleshwar Lift Irrigation Project, farmers in the area are growing sugarcane worth crores of rupees and are becoming financially strong. In fact, it led to an irrigation revolution in the district,” he said.
In the coming days, water will be supplied to fields in Ghonasagi, Kalkakavatagi, Alaginal and surrounding villages. A 110 kv power station is being set up in Ghonasangi village, he said.
Karnataka Bala Vikas Academy President Sangamesh Babaleswar, Siddu Goudavar, Mukhamrad Somnath Bagalkot, Jakkappa Yadav, Ramanna Mendegara, M. B. Hosamani, Siddagonda Rudragowdara, Tukarama Dhadke, Anjana Pawar and others were present.
