Discover the importance of teamwork in aeronautical and aerospace engineering at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai.
Aeronautical and aerospace engineering involves teamwork, and it is not individualised work, said Ashokan, Dean, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, at the 22nd edition of The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling Fair 2025 held on Saturday in Chennai.
Speaking on ‘Soaring High: Exploring Careers in Aviation’, he touched upon the various technical courses, such as aeronautical and aerospace engineering, while also throwing light on the training required for a student to pursue a career as pilot or cabin crew.
“All of these courses require training. The training given in these areas is very important. Some of the aspects you can learn on your own, but you need training so that you can hone your skills,” he added.
The institute also provide industrial visits to various aerospace industries, he added. Highlighting the features of the institution, he said they also had corporate training besides flight simulators, which helped students learn better, adding that research was another area where students could explore.
Replying to a question on private spacecraft companies, such as SpaceX, coming up in India, he said many such firms would be established in the country in the future.
