Rahul Gandhi targeted to please Modi: Mahesh Goud
TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said tht Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is being targeted by a section of media to please Prime Minister Narendra Modi, forgetting that he never hankered for power but only social justice.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Goud took exception to Mr. Gandhi’s criticism and termed it as unnecessary when he was raising the social justice issue in the entire country leading to a debate.
He said the Gandhi family, right from Jawaharlal Nehru’s days, worked for the country. If Nehru built the modern India, Indira Gandhi focussed on bringing the poor out of poverty. Rajiv Gandhi introduced the IT revolution in the country giving more power to the youngsters.
Mr. Gandhi is continuing that tradition where national interests are above personal interests. Had Mr. Gandhi wanted to become the Prime Minister, he could have easily done during the UPA regime, he said.

A major operation is under way in Kodagu district to capture two elusive tigers that have been sighted in Theralu and surrounding villages under the jurisdiction of Birunani Gram Panchayat. The forest department, supported by elephants from the Dubare elephant camp—Gopi and Srirama—has been involved in the effort for the past five days.
