VIT-AP University triumphs at Hackathon X semi-finals

VIT-AP University and NCSRC honor top cybersecurity teams at Hackathon X semi-final, promoting innovation and digital defence.
In a celebration of innovation and digital defence, VIT-AP University, in association with the National Cyber Security Research Council (NCSRC), felicitated the top-performing teams from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, at Hackathon X semi-final event—a national-level cybersecurity competition. The first and second positions were captured by teams from VIT-AP University, while the third prize was won by students of R. M. K. College of Engineering and Technology. Hackathon X brought together students, faculty, and cybersecurity experts.
Held on April 10, the Hackathon X semi-final, saw 150 participants engage in a fierce competition in the preliminary round. The 8-hour non-stop challenge included two technical segments: ‘Bug Bounty Round’ and ‘Capture the Flag’ (CTF), testing participants skills in cryptography, reverse engineering, networking, and ethical hacking skills.
Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar, praised the students’ passion and encouraged them to contribute to India’s technological advancement. He said: “The challenges we face in today’s digital age are evolving rapidly. Cybersecurity is no longer a niche topic, it is a national priority. From data breaches to digital infrastructure threats, our defence lies in the hands of individuals who can think critically, act ethically, and innovate constantly.” He added that events like Hackathon X are not just competitions, they are training grounds for future defenders of India’s digital ecosystem.
Director of NCSRC E. Khalieraaj Naidu highlighted the growing need for skilled cybersecurity professionals and emphasised the importance of experiential learning platforms like Hackathon X.
VIT-AP University Vice-Chancellor S.V. Kota Reddy, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering technical excellence and supporting initiatives that empower India’s youth in emerging fields.
