Over 500 locations raided in Cyberabad for drug abuse, gambling, prostitution, and traffic violations by multiple police wings.
Over 500 locations across the Cyberabad commissionerate were raided targeting drug abuse, illegal gambling, prostitution and traffic violations, during the combined special drives conducted by multiple police wings, including the Special Operations Team (SOT), Women Safety Wing and SHE Teams on Saturday.
The officials carried out raids in 510 locations including isolated places, farmhouses, pubs, hookah centres, and late-hour establishments, alongside conducting vehicle checks and testing for drug and alcohol abuse.
During the drive, 14 persons tested positive for ganja while 15 cases pertaining to open boozing were booked. A total of 26 cases related to prostitution, 57 cases of public nuisance, two Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases, and six violations under the Excise Act were also registered.
Meanwhile, the police seized four vehicles and booked two cases of triple riding and 18 cases pertaining to improper number plates. One case each under the Gambling Act and the PITA (Prevention of Immoral Trafficking) Act was also filed.
The comprehensive operation aimed at curbing social vices and ensuring public safety across the IT hub.
