Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Monday (April 7, 2025) expressed concerns about reports regarding the selection of only 38% of Anna University students who appeared for interviews through campus placements.
In a post on social media, Mr. Dhinakaran recalled that in 2021-22, the proportion of students chosen for jobs through campus placements was 68%. The fall raises questions about the educational standards of colleges affiliated to Anna University, he said, adding that parents and students were worried about fewer students having been selected by many leading companies in the field of information technology (IT).
The university and the State government should pay more attention to improve the standards of education for students and attract more companies for campus placement, he said.
In a separate statement, Mr. Dhinakaran greeted M.A. Baby on his election as general secretary of the CPI(M).
