R. Ashok accuses Congress government of shielding wrongdoers, leading to collapse of law and order in Karnataka.
Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashok on Monday accused the Congress government of exerting “pressure” on the police not to take action against those allegedly involved in the Udayagiri stone-pelting incident in Mysuru and said the city police are in a “helpless state” with the government allegedly backing those who threw stones at the police station and attacked vehicles.
“The law and order situation has collapsed. The government is pressuring the police not to act strictly against the wrongdoers. The government has continued its Muslim appeasement agenda, and it has no intention to act against the wrongdoers concerning the incident,” said Mr. Ashok.
Speaking to reporters here, he also accused the government of protecting those who created trouble in Udayagiri. “The Congress government has given a free hand to the people to do whatever they want. The Congress wants their votes. Some Ministers in the Siddaramaiah government are issuing statements that indicate their alleged support to the wrongdoers,” Mr. Ashok charged.
He also said that crimes such as robberies, dacoities, and violence against women are being reported in the State, especially in Bengaluru. The crimes are on the rise under the Congress regime, he said.
“If the people in the State want to see a peaceful situation, then this Congress government must go,” the BJP leader said.
