
Lalit Bohra assumes office as new DRM of Waltair

Experienced IRTS officer Lalit Bohra appointed as new Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division in Visakhapatnam.
Lalit Bohra, a 1998 batch IRTS officer with extensive experience in traffic commercial and policy formulation, joined as the new Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
He was Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India (MNRE), where he played an instrumental role in framing PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijali Yojana, PM-KUSUM, Wind Energy Policy including offshore wind, Green Energy Corridors, PLI Scheme for Solar Manufacturing etc.
He was also Director General of National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE). He was in Board of Directors of Power Grid Corporation of Indian Ltd and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.
While working in the Railways he has worked as Chief Commercial Manager, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager, Chief Public Relations Officer, and Deputy General Manager (General). He has also been the Chief General Manager in Container Corporation of India and has been instrumental in setting up of the biggest dry port i.e. as Khatuwas Terminal and running of double stack container trains.
Mr. Bohra has a B. Tech (Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an MBA (Finance) from the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani. His hobbies include reading, playing badminton, tennis and running.

The public meeting by BJP-backed Rashtriya Suraksha Janandolana Samiti to protest against the February 10 stone-pelting incidents outside the Udayagiri police station in Mysuru passed off peacefully on Monday after the city police modified its prohibitory orders in the wake of the conditional permission given to the samiti by the Karnataka High Court.
