Deloitte India Partner emphasizes governance, AI, and reskilling for corporate growth at Coimbatore Management Association event.
Corporates must enhance governance and governance principles to drive growth, said K.R. Sekar, Partner at Deloitte India, said here on Monday.
Speaking at the National Management Day 2025 programme of Coimbatore Management Association, he said decriminalisation of laws are important for ease of doing business. Nearly 40% of startups collapse due to inadequate governance and failure to adopt technology. Identifying the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and leveraging it effectively is crucial for business survival, he said, adding that companies should focus on reskilling. The emergence of AI in the next five years will necessitate reskilling for businesses to remain competitive.
Mr. Sekar highlighted Coimbatore’s strong industrial base and its potential for further development. The city contributed nearly $45 billion to the GDP of India in 2022 and has the capacity to grow beyond this. He also pointed out that industries in tier-two cities like Coimbatore and Mysore have significant growth opportunities, particularly as India emerges as a leading destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The Government of India is considering tier-two cities for setting up these centres, he added.
