Those responsible for Ballari maternal deaths will not be spared, says Karnataka CM in Chamarajanagar

BJP leader B. Sriramulu has accused the government of not taking the deaths seriously, but Mr. Siddaramaiah reiterated that further action will be initiated once the probe committee submits its report.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that those responsible for the maternal deaths at the Ballari District Hospital will not be spared, and a committee led by the Development Commissioner was already probing the incident.
Speaking to reporters at Naripura village helipad in Chamarajanagar district on December 7, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the government has suspended the drug controller. Once the committee submits its report, further action would be initiated, he added.
“The issue has been discussed in the cabinet, and the pharmaceutical company, which supplied substandard drugs, has been blacklisted,” said Mr. Siddaramaiah.
