Sivakasi Govt. College to get new auditorium

Foundation laid for new auditorium at Sivakasi Government Arts and Science College with financial support from local businesses.
The foundation for construction of a new auditorium building on Sivakasi Government Arts and Science College premises was laid on Wednesday.
Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu laid the foundation for the ₹80-lakh project that would be implemented under Namakku Naame scheme with 50% contribution from Lovely Offset Printers, Sivakasi, and Arasan Aluminium under their corporate social responsibility.
A statement said the auditorium building would have an area of 8,700 square feet and a seating capacity for 750 people.
Virudhunagar Collector V.P. Jeyaseelan, Sivakasi Mayor I. Sangeetha, Sivakasi MLA G. Ashokan, District Rural Development Agency Project Director Dhandapani, Senthil Kumar of Lovely Offset Printers and College Principal C.K. Balaji were among those who were present.

Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed a wide range of issues including the resumption of Amaravati and Polavaram projects, and the progress achieved since the NDA allies assumed office in the State in June 2024.
