Mridangam vidwan Thepperumanallur Varadharajan, 88, was on Wednesday, honoured with the Sangeet Sagar Award during the inauguration of the 20th Margazhi Isai Vizha organised by the Sangeeth Sagar Cultural Trust at Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School in T. Nagar. Chairman of the Paavai Institutions, Namakkal, V. Natarajan, and former presidents of the Federation of North American Tamil Sangams, Caldwel Velnambi and Bala Swaminathan, were present on the occasion.
