‘Pushpa 2’ makers have deleted the song ‘Dammunte Pattukora’ from YouTube amid stampede controversy involving Telugu star Allu Arjun
The makers of Pushpa 2 have deleted the song ‘Dammunte Pattukora’ from the T-Series YouTube Channel. The decision from the makers of the pan-Indian blockbuster has come on the back of the controversy surrounding actor Allu Arjun, the film’s leading man.
Allu Arjun was released on bail after being arrested in connection with the stampede at Sandhya theatre at the premiere of Pushpa 2 thatlead to a woman’s death and critically injuring her son. The actor has promised complete support to the family of the deceased. Allu Arjun drew flak for the incident from politicians. The Telugu superstar said the comments were an attempt at his character assassination.
The makers had released the song ‘Dammunte Pattukora’ on YouTube on December 24, 2024 (Tuesday). In the song, Allu Arjun’s titular character confronts police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, essayed by Fahadh Faasil. Pushpa challenges Shekhawat to “catch him if he has the courage”.

As Allu Arjun continues to address the controversy, some section of the social media felt the song was a jibe at the police officer. After a backlash, the Pushpa 2 team removed the song from YouTube. Despite the controversies, Pushpa 2 continues to rule the box office. Having crossed the Rs 1000-crore more mark at the box office, the film is reported to the highest grossing Indian film of 2024.
