NPPA demands newspaper reading be made mandatory in educational institutions

The All Kerala News Paper Agents’ Association (NPAA) stressed the importance of newspaper reading in schools, colleges, and research institutions.
The NPAA plans to submit a proposal to the government, requesting that newspaper reading be included in the academic curriculum.
At a seminar here on Thursday, Saneesh Cholakkad, Assistant Professor at the NSS College, Wadakkanchery, highlighted the challenges faced by the print media in the social media era.
C.P. Abdul Vahab, secretary of NPAA, chaired the seminar.
Prominent speakers including Chekkutty Karippoor, general secretary of NPAA, P.K. Sathar, State president, and P.V. Ajeesh, treasurer, addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of newspaper reading in fostering critical thinking, language skills, and civic awareness among students.
The seminar aimed to instill newspaper reading habits in the new generation and foster a responsible society while safeguarding the industry and the livelihoods of thousands of newspaper agents across the State.
