Trivikram launches ‘First Reel’ at Hyderabad Book Fair

Film Director Trivikram praises Rentala Jayadeva's 'Mana Cinema First Reel' book at Hyderabad Book Fair, highlighting Indian cinema history.
Film Director Trivikram released the book ‘Mana Cinema First Reel’ authored by senior journalist Rentala Jayadeva at the 37th Hyderabad Book Fair on Wednesday.
The first copy was presented to IRS officer Krishna Kaundinya. Mr. Trivikram said that the way Jayadeva presented the journey of Indian cinema from silent era to the next phase and the behind-the-scenes details of the creation of early films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages makes an interesting read.
He said that usually, people shy away from history books, but Jayadeva’s racy style makes people read it all the way through. He described the author as a master in film criticism and analysis, but said he can tell interesting stories and that the writer in him should now focus more on dishing out books. “My room should be filled with his books,” the popular film director said.
D. Vijayakumar and D Chandrashekhar Reddy from the Emesco Publishing House, and Mamidi Harikrishna, Director of Department of Culture, were among who spoke.
