Advisor and Aland MLA B.R. Patil urges Karnataka government to rename KSRDPRU in Gadag after Mahatma Gandhi.
Advisor to Chief Minister and Aland MLA B.R. Patil has urged the State government to name the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University (KSRDPRU) in Gadag district after Mahatma Gandhi.
Addressing presspersons in Kalaburagi on Wednesday, Mr. Patil urged the State government to rename KSRDPRU in Gadag after Mahatma Gandhi during the programme in Belagavi on December 26 and 27 organised to mark the centenary celebrations of the 1924 Belagavi Congress Session presided over by Mahatma Gandhi.
He appealed to the State government to take steps in bridging the gap between urban and rural areas in all sectors.
Mr. Patil once again pitched for a nation-wide ban on alcohol and asked the various State governments to exert pressure on the Centre to impose a ban on liquor across the nation.
Several governments have tried and failed to effectively impose liquor ban in their respective States due to illegal transportation of liquor from the neighboring States, he said and added that the nation-wide ban on liquor will be the only solution.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed a wide range of issues including the resumption of Amaravati and Polavaram projects, and the progress achieved since the NDA allies assumed office in the State in June 2024.
