In a complaint filed in December 2024, the father of the youth stated that his son went missing mysteriously and his mobile phone was switched off.
The body of an 18-year-old caretaker of a plant nursery at Haralur in Bengaluru, who was reported missing in December 2024, was found in the backyard of his house on March 5.
The deceased, Amit Kumar, got married in February 2024. He was working at the plant nursery owned by his relative Kamlesh Kumar and was living in the same place with two of his relatives, who were working as food delivery boys.
In a complaint filed by Amit’s father Tek Chand, 54, who is a resident of Unnao district in U.P., he has stated that his son went missing mysteriously and his mobile phone was switched off.
The family and his relatives searched for him and decided to wait for a few days thinking he would come back, but in vain. After waiting for a few days, his family members filed a missing complaint with the Bellandur police in December 2024.
In March, Tek Chand came to Bengaluru. With the help of Kamlesh and his relatives, he started searching for his son in the backyard of the house. They discovered a skeleton draped in a pull over and trouser.
Tek Chand identified skeleton as that of Amit Kumar on the basis of the clothes. He filed a complaint with the police. In his complaint, he expressed suspicion that Amit Kumar was murdered and his body was buried in the backyard to conceal the crime.
The Bellandur police shifted the skeletal remains of Amit Kumar for post-mortem after conducting a spot inspection with the FSL team. The police have registered a case of murder and destroying evidence under BNS.
