Mamata asserts fight for rights of people on Trinamool’s foundation day

Trinamool Congress celebrates 28th foundation day with Mamata Banerjee emphasizing continued fight for people's rights.
The Trinamool Congress on Wednesday (January 1, 2025) observed its 28th foundation day, with party chairperson Mamata Banerjee asserting that her party will continue for the rights of the people.
“Our struggle for the rights of the people of Bengal is ongoing and will continue in the days ahead,” said Ms. Banerjee, who had founded the party 28 years ago said.
The West Bengal Chief Minister also posted a song that she had composed herself, which was sung by renowned artist and Minister Indranil Sen, adding a personal touch to the celebration.
Later in the afternoon Ms. Banerjee expressed gratitude to every single member of the party and thanked them for their dedication and resilience, highlighting the importance of unity and service.
“Over the course of two decades, every protest, every victory, and even every challenge has reaffirmed our core belief: politics is not about power but about SERVICE. As we celebrate this milestone, I urge every Trinamool soldier to renew their pledge to fight for the people, and remember that the soul of our party is rooted in the ethos of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush ( mother, soil and people),” she added.
Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee also took to social media to express gratitude toward the party’s workers. “TMC is dedicated to the welfare of the people of the country and the state. I salute the hard work and sacrifices of all the TMC workers,” Mr. Banerjee wrote on social media.
The foundation day of the party was also observed across party offices across the State, where the party flag was unfurled.
