Kalyana Karnataka Literary Festival at Gulbarga University features seminars, renowned writers, and interactive sessions on literature.
Kalyana Karnataka Literary Festival, a two-day event with simultaneous seminars and deliberative sessions on the multiple aspects of literature, will be organised at the Gulbarga University starting Monday.
Addressing a media conference at the university guesthouse here on Thursday, Vice-Chancellor (Provisional) Gooru Sreeramulu and Institute of Kannada Studies Director H.T. Pote said that senior Kannada writer and literary critic Baraguru Ramachandrappa will inaugurate the event.
They said that renowned writers, scholars and literary critics from across the State and neighbouring States, including Rajendra Chenni, Amaresh Nugadoni, Honnu Siddartha, H.S. Anupama, D.S. Chaugale, Channabasavaiah Hiremath, Chaluvaraju, Siddanagouda Patil, K. Sharada, Tarini Shubhadayini, Vikram Visaji, Balasaheb Lokapur, Mogalli Ganesh, G.N. Mohan, Meenakshi Bali, Vasudhendra, Devu Pattar, Dastagirsab Dinni, Y.S. Vidyasgar, S. Rashmi, Y.B. Himmadi and K. Ravindranath will participate in various sessions during the event.
“Writer Ja. Na. Tejashree will deliver the keynote address and Prof. Gooru Sreeramulu will preside over the inaugural event. The valedictory event will be held on Tuesday where senior social activist Siddanagouda Patil will be the chief guest,” Mr. Pote said.
According to information he shared, 37 deliberative and interactive sessions on the various aspects of literature and culture will be held simultaneously in the four halls on the university campus, Harihara Sabhangana, Anubhava Mantapa, Kanaka Sabhangana and Kavirajamarga Sabhangana.
Over 150 scholars, including 92 from the Kalyana Karnataka region, will present their papers in different sessions. The event will include multi-language sessions. In the evening on the first day of the festival, there will be a music presentation at the Theme Park on the university campus.
To a question, Prof. Sreeramulu said that he has released ₹3 lakh for the event.
