K.T. Rama Rao criticizes State government for deceiving people with staggered welfare scheme rollout, demands immediate implementation in all villages.
HYDERABAD
Working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao has criticised the State government for initiating welfare scheme in only one village per mandal and accused the latter of deceiving people by setting multiple deadlines for rolling out the schemes.
In a statement, Mr. Rama Rao said on Sunday that neither during the Assembly election campaign nor until now either the Chief Minister or any other functionary of the Congress government had made any mention of implementing the schemes in one village per mandal to begin with or in a staggered schedule.
Criticising the government plan to implement the promises in a phased manner, he said it would take at least 60 years to implement all the schemes across the State (in all villages) in the planned mode. He sought to know whether the Congress had shared (distributed) its election manifesto in village and whether it had a mention that the scheme would be implemented in one village per mandal to begin with.
The BRS working president reminded the Congress not to forget that the people of all villages in the State had voted for the party trusting the deceptive promises. After coming to power, the Congress government had forgotten its slogan ‘every scheme for every eligible person/family’. Now it was indicating that schemes would be rolled out from some with the staggered rollout schedule.
Terming it the betrayal of people, Mr. Rama Rao said the people were not ready to tolerate such deceitful governance any more. He demanded that the government immediately implement the promised schemes in all villages in a saturation mode or else the people would boycott Congress leaders.
