Speaking at the Pongal celebration of the Maiyam here recently, he said the government had been propagating the values and ideals of Thiruvalluvar in several ways. “We will be glad if the CM names Chennai-Kanniyakumari NH stretch as Kurval Vazhi Salai,” Mr. Rajan said.
On the occasion, a book authored by writer and journalist B. Thirumalai was released by Professor Gnanasambandan and the first copy was received by Agarwal Eye Hospital doctor C. Badrinarayanan and former Madurai Kamaraj University Registrar Alagappan.
The speakers hailed Mr. Thirumalai for his writings, which revolved around society’s problems and appreciated his commitment in disseminating knowledge to the masses. Corporation Councillor Antony Ammal Sourirajan, People’s Watch executive director Henri Tiphagne and others spoke.
