The Hindu
Saligrama Guru Narasimha Temple president encourages Koota Brahmin community to recognize achievers and contribute to society.
Saligrama Guru Narasimha Temple Managing Committee president K.S. Karanth on Sunday, February 9, said the Koota Brahmin community should recognise achievers in different fields so as to encourage others to excel in their respective fields and contribute to society.
He was speaking at “Nammavaru-Namma Hemme,” a felicitation programme to achievers organised by Koota Maha Jagathu, Mangaluru Chapter here. Mr. Karanth advocated that any association should work for society. While everyone in the world was entangled in working for the self, one could come out of such a vicious circle by engaging in associations.
Koota Maha Jagathu Kendra Samsthe president H. Satish Hande said the association, comprising of Koota Brahmins spread across the country, has expanded pan-India with 37 chapters (Anga Samsthes). Soon, the United States Chapter would also be launched, he said.
Students of Bharatanjali dance school, Kottara, later presented Bharatanatyam recital under the direction of Guru Pratima Sridhar.
