Minister Nara Lokesh offers silk vastrams at Sri Khadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Kadiri, fulfilling a promise.
Minister for IT and Human Resources Development Nara Lokesh on Monday night offered ‘silk vastrams’ to the presiding deity at Lord Sri Khadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Kadiri town, Sri Sathya Sai district. The State government made this offering to the temple, which is administered by the endowments department and has a history dating back to the 13th century.
Minister Lokesh and Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad arrived in Kadiri after landing at Puttaparthi Airport. The temple priests welcomed the Ministers with traditional honours. After worshipping at the temple, the priests administered ‘Veda Ashirvachanam’ to Nara Lokesh and his entourage.
Later, Mr. Lokesh took part in the ‘Kalyanotsavam’ ritual performed for the Lord and his consort on the temple premises.
Interestingly, Mr. Lokesh, during his Yuvagalam yatra, made a promise to the party cadres that he would worship at the temple after the TDP would come back to power.
