All measures in place to prevent water crisis ahead of summer, says NTR Collector

NTR district administration ensures uninterrupted drinking water supply, sets up buttermilk kiosks, and addresses public grievances effectively.
The NTR district administration is taking every step to prevent any drinking water crisis for the summer season and also monitoring the supply of drinking water continuously to ensure uninterrupted supply, said District Collector G. Lakshmisha.
He was speaking after setting up a buttermilk kiosk on the Collectorate premises on Monday, for the benefit of the people coming here with their grievances. Such kiosks have been set up across the district with the help of donors and are going to be set up near bus stands, junctions, and hospitals, the Collector said.
Providing the details about various schemes, the Collector said that there are 19 comprehensive protected water supply schemes, 366 protected water supply schemes, 63 small protected water supply schemes, 439 direct pumping schemes, 7,917 hand pumps, 44 government and 594 private RO (Reverse Osmosis) plants in 286 gram panchayats in the district that supply drinking water to the people.
He instructed the officials concerned to supply water to affected habitations through tankers and asked them to ensure that the livestock also does not suffer due to lack of water. He instructed all the village and ward secretariat staff to inform the public about heatstrokes and the measures to be taken to stay safe. All hospitals have facilities to treat people suffering from heatstrokes, the Collector said.
Meanwhile, there was a huge rush at the Collectorate as many people came to submit their petitions during the Public Grievance Redressal System on Monday. The administration received 152 petitions, most of which were related to the Revenue Department.
