Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticizes BJP leaders for opposing land acquisition, questions Union Ministers' accusations of delay.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reiterated his allegations that the BJP leaders were desperate to stop land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road while the Union Ministers are accusing the government of the delay.
In an informal chat with reporters on Monday, Mr. Reddy said Union Ministers insist on land acquisition for projects at the earliest while BJP MPs Etala Rajender and K. Laxman agitate demanding that the government not acquire lands for projects. Why this dichotomy?, he asked.
Continuing his attack on Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy, the Chief Minister said the Metro Rail to Hyderabad was given by the late S Jaipal Reddy and it is visible and where is the Metro Rail brought by Mr. Kishan Reddy, who is claiming his contribution. He said Mr. Kishan Reddy skipped the all-party meeting called by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka not to displease BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao. “Why did he skip the meeting despite present in the city if not for Mr. KCR,” he charged.
Mr. Reddy said the State government is demanding funds from the Centre as it was the right of the State to get funds. He reminded the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Parade Ground public meeting and said the Union Ministers should insist on fulfilling those promises. The CM said he was ready for a debate with Mr. Kishan Reddy on the funds secured by him to the State and also the contribution of Telangana to the national kitty and what it gets back.
Making light of BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao’s criticism, he said KTR’s words have no value in the Telangana society. He alleged that KCR’s only contribution to the State was pushing it into huge debt in the last 10 years. In reply to a question, he said he wanted KCR to come to the Assembly.
