International exhibition centre at Kakkanad to be opened on January 18

Kochi's new ₹90 crore convention centre in Kakkanad to host exhibitions, conferences, and trade fairs, opening January 18.
The International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) developed by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) will be opened on Saturday, January 18.
Located in Kakkanad, Kochi, the facility was set up at a cost of around ₹90 crore. It will host industrial exhibitions, conferences, and trade fairs. The convention centre includes a 640-seat air-conditioned main hall, 100-seat mini hall, dining hall, kitchen, VIP lounges, guest rooms, and a boardroom, according to a release.
The centre was developed in two phases over two-and-a-half years. The first phase featured the development of a 55,000-sq. ft. exhibition hall, while the second phase saw the completion of a 51,715-sq. ft. convention centre spread across three floors.
The exhibition hall is divided into six units, each measuring 4,500 sq. ft., capable of accommodating 25 to 30 stalls. Additionally, 24 exclusive stalls have been set up to display high-value items such as jewellery and precious stones, the release said.
