Honeytrap issue is unfortunate, says Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar

Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar addresses attempts to honey-trap a minister, promises Home Minister will investigate thoroughly.
“It is very unfortunate that there have been attempts by vested interests to honey-trap a minister. The Home Minister G. Parameshwara will look into the issue in detail,” Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar said in Belagavi on Sunday (March 23, 2025).
“Senior ministers and leaders have shared their experiences on the floor of the House. The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and the Home Minister have already responded to the issue. The Home Minister has assured he will look into it. I will not comment about it,” she told reporters.
She refused to respond to Minister Satish Jarkiholi’s statement that there was “an attempt to subdue roaring tigers by showing them CDs”. The media should ask him about it. It is not appropriate for me to answer that. I will not respond to such issues, she said.
To a query, Ms. Hebbalkar said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would take a decision on providing the sixth guarantee of increasing the honorarium of Anganwadi workers. “Karnataka government has already provided five guarantees to the people of the State. The CM will take a decision on the sixth one. As CM in 2017, Mr. Siddaramaiah raised the honorarium amount of Anganwadi workers. He has increased it further now. In addition, gratuity amounts are being given to those who retire from 2023,” the Minister said.
