Annual fair at Sai Baba Temple in India includes free mass marriage program to promote simplicity and blessings in weddings.
India is a holy land and it has been considered as the Guru of the whole world from the early eras because several Sharanas and Sufis spread the spiritual message and Sai Baba was one among them, Minister for Small Scale Industries and Public Enterprises Sharanabasappa Darshanapur has said.
He was addressing a two-day annual fair of the Sai Baba Temple in Ibrahimpur village, Shahapur taluk of Yadgir district, on Sunday.
The Sai Baba Trust, headed by Maharaj Diggi, organised a free mass marriage programme during the fair.
Wishing the best for the newly-weds, Mr. Darshanapur said that “Sai Baba will bless you all as you are entering your married life. This mass marriage is for sending a message to others not to spend money unnecessarily on marriages.“
Member of Legislative Assembly Channareddy Patil Tunnur wished the new couples and urged them to respect each other and uphold the values of marriages “Lead a happy life whatever the situation may come in your married life,” he added.
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Diggi, who presided over the programme, said that he is aware of the difficulties in organising marriages as he also comes from a poor family. “To help the needy in getting married, I organise free mass marriage during the annual fair of the temple,” he added.
During the event, several pairs entered into their married life. Special pujas were offered to Sai Baba. Religious heads of various mutts, political party leaders, villagers and others participated.
