Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president criticizes DMK government for not fulfilling demands of teachers and government employees.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Sunday charged the DMK government of not heeding the slew of demands made by the Joint Action Council of Tamil Nadu Teachers Organisations and Government Employees Organisation (JACTTO-GEO), including restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.
In a statement, he said it was the duty of the State government to fulfil the demands of the teachers and government employees, who served as the backbone of the administrative machinery. “The DMK government only holds talks with protesters for eye wash and is not taking measures to fulfil their demands. The DMK had promised to implement the Old Pension Scheme if it was voted to power in 2021. However, it has been cheating lakhs of families for the last four years.”
Mr. Vijay added that some States such as Rajasthan, Punjab, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand had restored the Old Pension Scheme, and the Karnataka government was also taking steps to do so. “Why is the DMK government, which claims to be a frontrunner in several aspects when compared to other States, silent on this issue?” he asked, adding that his party supports the demands of the JACTTO-GEO.

The government integrating Kaveri-2 software adopted by offices of sub-registrars with e-khata software adopted by urban local bodies in a hurry without studying the pros and cons has created many issues for many people in the jurisdiction of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC). They are not able to register their properties, said D. Vedavyasa Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru City South, on Wednesday.
