BJP consults with Dalit organisations to prevent diversion of funds, united fight planned against government guarantees.
Ahead of the commencement of the legislature session, the BJP on Sunday (March 2, 2025) held round-table consultations with various Dalit organisations in the State on the methods of preventing diversion of funds meant for Dalits to other schemes.
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, who presided over the consultations, told presspersons that Dalit organisations were anguished over the diversion of funds to other schemes, particularly the government’s guarantees.

“The diversion of funds meant for Dalits to guarantees has now made us to think that the guarantees announced by the government had not covered Dalits under their ambit. The government appears to have brought us under the guarantees now by diverting the funds meant for our welfare,” Mr. Narayanaswamy alleged.
He said that Dalit organisations that attended the consultations had decided to put up an united fight to prevent any further diversion of funds. “If need be, we are ready to wage a legal battle too,” he remarked.

Mr. Narayanaswamy said that nearly 80 organisations had attended the consultative meeting.
