Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 114.10 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 feet) with an inflow of 54 cusecs and a discharge of 322 cusecs. The level in Vaigai dam was 59.61 ft. (71 ft.) with an inflow of 177 cusecs and a discharge of 422 cusecs. The combined storage in Periyar credit was 2,694.28 mcft.
The rainfall (in mm) recorded during the last 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Wednesday was as follows: Periyapatti 24.2, Pullipatti 22.8, Melur 20.2, Thaniyamangalam 20, Kallandiri 18, Sathiyar dam 13.8, Chittampatti 12.2, Thekkadi 11.8, Madurai 11, Kodaikanal 10.6, Mettupatti 10.4, Sothupparai dam 9, Andipatti 8.4, Vaigai dam 8.2, Manjalar dam and Kuppanampatti 7, Peranai 6.8, Shanmuganadhi dam 6.4, Uthamapalayam 5.6, Veerapandi 4.6, Gudalur 2.6, Idayapatti 2, Elumalai 1.8, Viraganur 1.4, Mullaperiyar dam 1.2 and Marudhanadhi dam nil.
