‘Maasi’ car festival held in Tiruchendur

Annual 'Maasi' car festival at Lord Subramaniya Swami Temple in Tamil Nadu with devotees participating in rituals and procession.
The ‘Maasi’ car festival was held at Lord Subramaniya Swami Temple here on Wednesday in which devotees from various parts of Tamil Nadu participated.
After the special ‘abhishekam’, ‘alangaaram’ and ‘deepaaraadhanai’ started at 5 a.m., other rituals were performed. After the Vinayakar car was drawn along the car streets, the car of Swami Kumaravidangaperuman was drawn at 7.50 a.m. and reached the station at 11 a.m.
Led by Superintendent of Police Albert John, police had made elaborate security arrangements.

After Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured protesting members that he would call a meeting of legislators after the Budget session to look into their problems, the BJP and Janata Dal (S) withdrew their dharna in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday on the issue of releasing honorarium from the State exchequer for Congress workers involved in the implementation of the five guarantee schemes.
