Village panchayat secretaries staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here on Wednesday to press their demands such as inclusion of panchayat secretaries drawing timescale in the pension scheme.
The protesters said the incentives being extended to the record clerks of panchayat unions should be extended to the panchayat secretaries. Since the panchayat secretaries drawing the timescale have not been covered under the pension scheme, they should be included.
As the village panchayat secretaries went on mass casual leave on Wednesday, functioning of official work was affected.
