Fourrts India and Rotary Club of Adyar donate vehicle to support rural teleophthalmology initiative, saving underprivileged infants from blindness.
Fourrts India and the Rotary Club of Adyar on March 21 donated a vehicle to support the ‘Project Vision on Wheels’, a rural teleophthalmology initiative by Radhatri Nethralaya. According to a press release, the project, under the Gurupriya Vision Research Foundation, screens babies in rural Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh for Retinopathy of Prematurity, a blinding condition. To date, over one lakh babies have been screened, and 4,500 underprivileged infants have been saved from blindness through timely laser surgery.
