Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu promises support to shipbuilding industry in Parchur constituency. It is expected to generate employment and drive economic growth in the region, he says. He sanctions a double road from the national highway to Valaparla Industrial Park and a water storage tank at Valaparla. Mr. Naidu emphasises his administration’s commitment to eradicating poverty, stating that the government’s ‘P4 odel’ aims at creating a balanced society. The Chief Minister says notification on the Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) will be issued this month and the teacher recruitments process completed by June.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh will extend its full support for the establishment of a shipbuilding and ship repair industry in the Parchur Assembly constituency, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said.
“The proposal, put forth by MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao, is expected to generate employment and drive economic growth in the region,” Mr. Naidu said while addressing the ‘Praja Vedika’, a public gathering organised at Parchur in Bapatla district on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister lauded Mr. Samabasiva Rao’s efforts to bring developmental projects to the constituency, and said the government would ensure successful implementation of the shipbuilding initiative.
Apart from the shipbuilding industry, several other projects had been sanctioned to enhance infrastructure and public services in the region. They included modernisation of the Nagarjuna Sagar Canal, establishment of National Cadet Corps (NCC) offices, renovation of Shadikhanas and dargahs, and construction of community halls for the SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. Additionally, crematoriums for the BC and OC communities would be built, ensuring better civic amenities for all, he added.
In a significant infrastructure boost, a double road from the national highway to Valaparla Industrial Park would be constructed at a cost of ₹9.10 crore. A water storage tank would be set up at Valaparla, and permission had been granted for the establishment of an Auto Nagar in the Inkollu-Martur-Parchur area. Another ₹5 crore had been allocated for land acquisition for the Kommuru Canal, Mr. Naidu said.
Agricultural markets would be established in Parchur, Karanchadu, Inkollu, and Chinaganjam, while drainage issues in Inkollu would be resolved. Additionally, financial assistance would be provided through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) towards medical treatment for the underprivileged.
Mr. Naidu emphasised his administration’s commitment to eradicating poverty, stating that the government’s ‘P4 odel’ aimed at creating a balanced society, where the wealthiest 10% support the development of the bottom 20%. He underscored the importance of ensuring essential amenities such as housing, pensions, potable water, electricity, sanitation, drainage, and Internet connectivity for all citizens.

“Passion, hard work, discipline, confidence and requisite skills will help in you achieving excellence in your chosen field,” Chief Executive Officer of Dharwad Zilla Panchayat Bhuvanesh Patil has said. He was inaugurating The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling 2025 at Bio Technology Hall of KLE Technology University (BVB Campus) in Hubballi on Saturday.
