National Science Day celebrations in Kerala feature innovative inventions for nation's progress, including devices for disabilities and waste management.
The National Science Day celebrations organised by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) here on Friday were marked by unique presentations of inventions aimed at contributing to the nation’s progress.
Among the featured inventions was a device designed to assist individuals with visual impairments, presented by Suraj Suresh, a Plus One student from S.V. Higher Secondary School in Payimedu, Malappuram. Akhilesh P. introduced an innovative hearing aid, while Jabir Karatt presented new waste management models focused on organic waste recycling. Aishwarya R.S., a Ph.D. scholar from Kannur University, drew attention with her technology for developing biofuels from waste. Ashir K., a student at the Kerala Agricultural University, showcased edible packaging products that promise to revolutionise the packaging industry. Lini Basil, a dentist, presented a dental care product aimed at improving oral hygiene.
ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU) Director Padmakumar E.S. inaugurated the event. The Chief Minister’s scientific advisor M. Chandradathan delivered the keynote address. KSCSTE member secretary A. Sabu also spoke.
