CSIR-CFTRI celebrates National Science Day with eminent scientist T. Ramasami, awards certificates for contributions and achievements.
The CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, on Friday celebrated the National Science Day on its campus here.
Eminent scientist T. Ramasami, who served as the Director of CSIR-CLRI and the Secretary of DST, inaugurated the celebrations, delivering a lecture titled “A well-wisher peep into the centenary of CFTRI”.
On the occasion, the scientist, who is the recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards, gave away certificates of appreciation to the staff and scientists of the CSIR-CFTRI for the year 2023-24 in recognition of their works and contributions.
CSIR-CFTRI Director Sridevi Annapurna Singh shared the achievements of the institute while chronicling the journey of CFTRI, the reason behind its formation, and how it became the country’s premier food tech lab.
The lecture by the eminent scientist was part of the CSIR-CFTRI Platinum Jubilee Lecture Series 2024-25.
In his lecture, Prof. Ramasami spoke on the vision of “Viksit Bharat” and how the CSIR-CFTRI can be part of the vision and mission for seeing India as a developed country by 2047.
It is a dream of not one person but a dream of the people of the country to see India as a developed nation. CSIR-CFTRI can contribute towards achieving goals. It has to align with the vision of Vikshit Bharat for the national cause, he said.
