Shri Vireshwar Natya Sangha presents Kannada comedy play in Belagavi, supporting children's education through professional theatre.
Sri Vireshwar Natya Sangha troupe will present Kannada comedy play Kivuda Madida Kitapati at the Kumar Gandharva Hall in Belagavi on Sunday.
The professional theatre team will present two shows at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
A team of 22 artists led by Vireesh Chalgeri and Meenakshi Davangere will perform the play.
“The proceeds of the play will go towards children’s education,” president of Rangasampada Arvind Kulkarni told reporters in Belagavi on Friday.
Dr. Kulkarni said that the Vireshwar Natya Sangha troupe formed 13 years ago had performed several professional plays.
He demanded that the State government build one theatre per taluk to promote professional theatre.
He lamented that the number of professional theatre groups has been reducing over the years.
