Union Minister Kumaraswamy warns against letting political differences destroy human relationships in villages, emphasizing unity and harmony.
Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy has cautioned people against allowing political differences to ruin human and blood relationships in villages.
Participating in the village festival in Chikkaveerakoppal in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district on Sunday (February 9, 2025), Mr. Kumaraswamy recalled that human relationships and blood ties remained deep-rooted in villages. People considered neighbours as their own and reposed trust in them that ensured peace and harmony in the villages, he said, while expressing concern over the gradual falling apart of the unity and tranquility.
Villages used to be centres of peace, the JD(S) leader said while adding that entire village would congregate and celebrate a joyous occasion in any one household. Community feasts were common, he said, recalling his memories of participating in such events with parents and grandparents.
Similarly, the entire village would stand in support of any one facing difficulty, he said, regretting that such an atmosphere of unity and togetherness was fast disappearing.
Pointing out that village fairs and festivals fostered unity and harmony, Mr. Kumaraswamy urged villagers to restrict their political differences only to elections and not allow them to affect interpersonal relationships.
Former MLA Suresh Gowda also participated in the village festival while the elders of the village honoured the Union Minister by extending him a warm welcome. Earlier, Kumaraswamy visited the Sri Adishakti Huchammadevi Temple in Bettadmallenahalli and offered prayers.
