Ugadi Day: Temples witness heavy rush of devotees

Ugadi festival celebrations at major temples in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts draw huge crowds for special pujas.
Major temples located in both Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts witnessed huge rush as special pujas were performed to the presiding deities on the occasion of Viswavasunama nama Ugadi festival. Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple, Sri Kanyakaparameswari temple, Ishwarya Venkateswara Sametha Astalakshmi temple and other temples in Vizianagaram district wore a festive look with the decoration of the temples with flowers and mango leaves. Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple of Arasavilli temple witnessed a heavy rush of devotees from Sunday morning (March 30, 2025). Normally, the crowd is more on Sundays.
As it is Sunday and Ugadi, the devotees from various places came to the temple and offered prayers. Priest Gopi Nambala Venkata Sitaramacharyulu offered prayers in Lord Shivabalaji temple at Banker’s Colony, Srikakulam. Sri Vijayaganapati temple-Srikakulam priests Penta Sridhar Sarma and Penta Nagesh Kumar Sarma performed Abhisekham to the presiding deity.
Vinayaka Panchayatana Alayam and Astalakashmi temple trustee P. Jaganmohana Rao made elaborate arrangements for the Ugadi celebrations in the temple premises. SSR Charitable Foundation president Sura Srinivasa Rao distributed dress material and essential goods to needy people at Navabharat junction of Srikakulam on the occasion of Ugadi festival.

Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Lokesh lays stone for Reliance Industries Limited’s CBG plant at Divakarapuram in Prakasam district. The 100-tonne capacity state-of-the-art plant spread over 475 acres is being established with an investment of ₹139 crore. RIL is investing a total of ₹65,000 crore to establish 500 CBG plants across the State, which are expected to generate employment opportunities to approximately 2.5 lakh people.
