A class 9 student, Nidhi, died on Tuesday, after reportedly consuming herbicide mistakenly at her house on March 14.
Nidhi, 14, lived with her mother in Deepanjalinagar. She used to drink aloe vera juice for health and skin reasons, the police said. After the bottle containing the juice became empty, her mother had filled it with herbicide.
Without realising it, Nidhi reportedly drank the herbicide thinking it was aloe vera juice. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and from there to KIMS Hospital in the city. She battled for over two weeks and died on Tuesday, the police said.
The Byatarayanapura police have filed an unnatural death registry (UDR) report and have taken up an investigation.
