Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation to distribute 40,000 sewing machines to help beneficiaries make a living.
The Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation (TGMFC) on Friday (February 28) announced that it would distribute over 40,000 sewing machines to beneficiaries across the State to help them make a living.
According to Obedulla Kothwal, chairman of the TGMFC, the machines would be handed over to beneficiaries in Wanaparthy district on March 2. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would be present at the event, he said.
The first phase will entail the distribution of 10,490 sewing machines to beneficiaries from nine districts. In the second phase, 31,740 machines will be given to beneficiaries from across the State.
Addressing the media, Mr. Kothwal alleged that the previous government had done little through the TGFMC. He claimed that while a few beneficiaries were given loans and cars, under certain scheme, this was done ahead of the elections.
Ever since the Congress government came to power, efforts have been under way to better understand the kind of skills beneficiaries should be equipped with so that they meet the requirements of the market. He further pointed out that ‘beautician’ and ‘mehendi’ designing courses were inadequate.
