Telangana CM Revanth Reddy lays foundation stone for ₹192 crore worth development projects in Medak district, including road construction and infrastructure improvements.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited the Edupayala Vanadurga Bhavani temple in Nagasanpalli, Papannapet Mandal, Medak district, and laid the foundation stone for several development works. The initiatives, with a total budget of ₹192 crore, aim to boost infrastructure and welfare in the region.
Key development projects include the construction of roads linking various tribal villages in the Medak constituency at a cost of ₹52.76 crore. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for the Young India Integrated Residential School Complex and the Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavan, which is set to be constructed with an allocation of ₹5 crore. Bank linkage cheques worth ₹100 crore will be provided to self-help group (SHG) women in the Medak district. Infrastructure improvements at Edupayala, including road expansion, divider construction, and the installation of high-mast lights, will be carried out with ₹35 crore.
Later, the Chief Minister also attended the centenary celebrations of the historic Medak Cathedral. It is the second-largest cathedral in Asia, standing as a symbol of unity and resilience. During his visit, Mr. Reddy laid the foundation stone for additional development works worth ₹29 crore at Medak Church and participated in Christmas celebrations, offered special prayers.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “It is a pleasure to celebrate the centenary of Medak Church in a grand manner. Our government has released the necessary funds for its development. This cathedral is not just a religious site but a testament to the historical spirit of Medak.” Highlighting his government’s commitment to the welfare of marginalised communities, he stated, “The Congress government is a government of the poor. Inspired by the legacy of Christian missionaries in education and medicine, we have introduced fee reimbursement and Rajiv Aarogyasri.”
TPCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Konda Surekha, Damodar Raja Narsimha, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao, and several MLAs attended the programmes.
